The Origins of Berchta's Botanicals

For most of my life, I was told I was just "too sensitive"—to stress, to food, to hormones, to life itself. I spent decades battling unexplained fatigue, relentless digestive issues, and a body that always seemed out of sync. Chronic GI issues, food intolerances, pain flares, depression, hormonal crashes… they all came and went like unwelcome guests, with no real answers.

It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with ADHD at 40 that the threads finally began to weave together. Suddenly, things that never made sense—my overwhelm, my energy crashes, my unpredictable moods and digestion—had names: PMDD, histamine intolerance, orthostatic intolerance, Ehlers-Danlos & nervous system dysregulation. It was all connected.

Modern medicine offered me pieces, but not a path. So I did what my ancestors would have done: I turned to the land. I began studying herbalism through the lens of neurodivergence—learning how traditional Slavic and vitalist practices could support bodies like mine. I found my rhythm in wildcrafting, blending teas for overstimulated days, and crafting formulas that spoke to the gut-brain-heart connection so often overlooked.

Berchtas Botanicals was born from that journey—from reclaiming my health and identity, and from the fierce belief that healing for neurodivergent folks needs to be holistic and multifaceted.

Rooted in the Vitalist and Slavic folk herbal traditions, Berchtas Botanicals offers handcrafted, small-batch herbal remedies with deep respect for the land, ancestral knowledge, and the body's innate capacity to heal.
